TOPIC: DOING WHAT IS RIGHT.
TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 21-23.
KEY VERSE: "And you will have purged from yourselves the guilt of shedding innocent blood, since you have done what is right in the eyes of the LORD." (Vs. 9)
SUMMARY
Just like the children of Israel, we also see how limited we are in our ability to solve the problem of injustice in this world, then we must give it over to God by praying earnestly for the sins of the people in our time. The whole essence of all of God's law is to prevent the degradation of human beings who are created in His own Image, so ultimately, Jesus had to bore the curse and humiliation of sin to make atonement for us.
APPLICATION
From today's text, I am reminded of one of the most pressing needs of my generation, part of the reason God left me on earth after He has saved my which is to pray for the sins the people in my time so that the image of God can be restored to all mankind which is the utmost desire of God himself.
PRAYER: Lord, I pray for my nation's sins. Please, help me honour the image of God in everyone in Jesus' Name, Amen.
