DISCIPLINE AND WISDOM; RIGHTEOUSNESS AND WEALTH.

TOPIC: DISCIPLINE AND WISDOM; RIGHTEOUSNESS AND WEALTH.

TEXT: PROVERBS 13:1-25.
KEY VERSE: "Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honoured." (Vs. 18)

SUMMARY
We can become wise by doing the following according to God's words in this passage:
1. heeding instruction and advice (Vs. 1,10,13-14);
2. respecting discipline (Vs. 18, 24);
3. walking with wise men (Vs. 20). Righteousness and integrity belongs to the way of wisdom. It is good to have both righteousness and wealth, but if it is not possible to have both, righteousness is better because with righteousness comes lifting, (Proverbs 14:34) and divine supply,(Matthew 6:33).

APPLICATION
From the above text, I am more than convinced that only righteousness brings true and lasting wealth, the one that transcends my own life time. To become wise according to God's word, I must walk with the wise, respect discipline and heed instruction and advice of the wise.

PRAYER: Lord, give me a humble heart that seek righteousness and wisdom first in Jesus' Name, Amen.
FURTHER READING: MATTHEW 6: 25-34.
ONE WORD: SEEK GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS FIRST.
