TOPIC: THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL BLESS YOU.
TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 15:1-23.KEY VERSE: "For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you." (Vs. 6)
SUMMARY
God redeemed and set the Israelites free from bondage of Egypt, though they are still influenced by the culture of their time, so God, out of his great love for them set up a standard of living for them: being generous to others, especially their own brethren by lending to them freely. God was trying to help his people to be free from slavery to materialism. God is the ultimate provider, who generously provide for all their needs out of his love and for them to be blessed by him, becoming lender to nations and ruling over other nations, they must become and live like God in love.
APPLICATION
From this passage, I learnt that I must become like God in love, loving him and his people not material things, for God's kind of love gives sacrificially and unconditionally, only then can his blessings flow freely into my life.
PRAYER: Lord, you provide all things, give me an open hand and an open heart of love for you and your kingdom in Jesus' Name, Amen.
