TOPIC: THE JOY OF THE KINGDOM.
TEXT: LUKE 10:17-24.
KEY VERSE: "However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." (Vs. 20)
SUMMARY
Undoubtedly the 72 were nervous when they went out, but as they obeyed the Lord's instructions, they enjoyed victory upon victory, so they returned and exclaimed, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name. But Jesus quickly cautioned them to focus on the greatest and the real source of their joy- that their names are written in heaven. That God chose us in Christ to dwell in his kingdom forever. This is remarkable grace. God will be pleased to reveal his kingdom only to those who are humble and obedient like the little children. The pure in spirit is truly blessed.
APPLICATION
Success is certainly a cause of celebration, but if care is not talking, one can become proud and turn it to idol. My true source of joy is in the Truth that my name is written in heaven, not in any form of success. To continually feel this joy of God, I must be humble and obedient to God always like little children only then will I be pleasing to him in all my ways.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for the joy of your kingdom.
