TOPIC: WANTED; HARVEST WORKERS.

TEXT: LUKE 10: 1- 16

KEY VERSE: "He told them, ' The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."' (Vs. 2)

SUMMARY

Jesus was ready to reap a harvest of new believers, he appointed 72 of his followers and sent them out in two's, he said the harvest is plentiful. The fields are ripe for picking. Jesus told the 72 to pray for even more workers. They were to depend on his power and provision as they went out, declaring God's peace, healing the sick and ultimately proclaiming the kingdom of God. They were to be content with whatever was offered to them and when they face rejection, they were to declare God's judgement, then they will be serving as official ambassadors of Jesus our Lord and king.

APPLICATION

From this passage,I am reminded that only one thing is utmost in God's heart- fruits. God is working in people's hearts to make them ready and ripe for salvation and so the harvest is plentiful, but I must go out to harvest by God's power and provision which are available to me in Christ and also pray to God to send faithful workers into his fields.

PRAYER: Father, send more workers out into the fields in Jesus' Name, Amen.
