TOPIC: WHAT TO DO UNTIL RETURN
TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:12-28
KEY VERSE: "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (Vs. 16-18).
SUMMARY
Jesus will certainly come again, this hope in him molds our relationship with others and our daily living. We work hard and build up other brethren in the Lord, encourage the discouraged, help the weak, be generous, be patient and strive to do good for others, acknowledge those who care for and admonish us in the Lord, warn those who are idle and disruptive. We must rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks to God in every circumstances whether good or bad, this is God's will for us. We must not quench the Holy Spirit, but hold on to what is good. God himself is sanctifying us through and through by his word(John 17:17), he is faithful and able to keep us blameless until his glorious return for us.
APPLICATION
From today's text, I am reminded of the kind of life I'm expected to live as one with the hope of Jesus' return and eternal rest with Him as contained in his word, the Holy Bible,it is my duty by the help of the Holy Spirit to daily seek and search for the truth in his word and live by it, so that I will be blameless at his return.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, as we await your return, help us to love and bless others. Make us joyful, prayerful and thankful in all circumstances in Jesus' Name. Amen.
