TOPIC: WRITE THE WORDS CLEARLY.
TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 27:1-26.
KEY VERSE: "And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stones you have set up." (Vs. 8)
SUMMARY
So as not to forget the Laws of the Lord, Israelites' first responsibility would be to dedicate themselves to God's covenant, they were commanded to take large stones, coat them with plaster, write all the Words of the Law on them and celebrate a festival. They were to perform ceremony that showed them clearly that they had only two choices- a blessed life or a cursed life; blessing for obedience and curses for disobedience. They give their assent to every command as it was read by saying "Amen". It would be a good start to living as God's people, planting the Words of God in their minds and hearts.
APPLICATION
According to the Words of God from this passage, it is obvious that my first responsibility to God as his child is to ensure that I store up His Words in my heart as I study and meditate on it daily, once my heart is filled and saturated with it, only then will there be the possibility of living in obedience to it as the Holy Spirit help me daily. This I must do daily so that I can live as God wants me to live as thus be blessed in all my ways.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to write your words very clearly on my heart daily in Jesus' Name, Amen.
