TEXT: PROVERBS 9: 1-18
KEY VERSE: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding,"
(Vs 10).
SUMMARY
Wisdom has prepared everything we need for life and godliness(2 PETER 1:3) abundantly. She sent out her invitation to all (Matthew 22:14), come, eat and drink, all is free, but it requires humble repentance. All evil ways must be abandoned, those who reject this invitation will suffer alone, but those who love the knowledge of the Holy One(JESUS) will walk in insight, Increase in wisdom daily and their years will be many. According to Matthew 11:28-30, only the humble will accept Jesus' invitation and find eternal life and rest for their souls.
Similarly, the Devil.also sends out his invitation to all (Genesis 3:1), loudly he invites passers by, but he is lying (John 8:44), he has nothing prepared, his motto is, "stolen water is sweet, food eaten in the secret is delicious". He promises that secret sinful life will be enjoyable, but to follow his way leads to death.
APPLICATION
From this passage, I am reminded that I will always have to make a choice between two options each and every moment either to go the way of God (Wisdom) and be free from all evil in this life and the life hereafter or to go the way of the Devil (Folly) which ultimately ends in death, Deuteronomy 30:19-20.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to fear the Lord and to follow your way of wisdom. Let me humbly repent and follow your way of eternal life in Jesus' name, Amen.
