THE THESSALONIAN'S FAITH

TOPIC: THE THESSALONIAN'S FAITH.

TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 1:1-10

KEY VERSE "They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead- Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath." (Vs 9b-10)

SUMMARY

The Thessalonians worked by faith, prompted by love and endured suffering because of their hope in Jesus Christ, God loved and chose them, not only did they hear the words of the gospel, but the Holy Spirit also powerfully and deeply convicted them. They imitated the Apostles and our Lord Jesus Christ. By so doing, wholly embracing the gospel, they became model believers to all other churches. Their faith and commitment to Christ were known everywhere. They had repented of their idolatry and have turned to serve the living and true God. They also eagerly waited for Jesus, who rescues us from wrath to come.

APPLICATION

Only by the powerful workings of the Holy Spirit in our hearts on God's words can we be deeply convicted of our sinful life and truly turn to God who had paid all the price (that we can never pay) for our salvation from sin and it's reward- death, then we will be able to truly serve the true and the living God who saved us for this very noble purpose of making Christ known everywhere so that at his appearance, we will not be ashamed, but be glorified together with him.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for saving us from sin in order to serve you. Help us to live as model believers as we wait for Jesus' return.
