TEXT: PROVERBS 11:1-15
KEY VERSE: "Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death." (Vs. 4)
SUMMARY
The wise lives before God in humility, honesty and integrity. He seeks God first, His kingdom and His righteousness. God shows him favour and delivers him from troubles and death, but the wicked is proud, unfaithful with duplicity, he is dishonest. Disgrace come on him and in the day of wrath, his wealth cannot save him. All his hopes and promises perish with him. The godless destroy their neighbours with wicked mouth, but the righteous builds them up through his knowledge . There is shouts for joy when the wicked perish, but the city rejoices when the righteous prospers. A nation falls for lack of guidance, but victory is won through many wise advisers.
APPLICATION
From today's text, we see the righteous (one in right standing with God) and the wicked compared in character and results. Righteousness before God can only be attained by choosing the Way out of wickedness and the Way into righteousness- Jesus Christ. It is therefore my choice to choose Him so that on the day of wrath (the judgment day) I will be delivered as I stand blamelessly before Him accepted in the beloved and been a blessing to others in and around me.
PRAYER: Lord, thank you for showing two ways before me. Make me a blessing to my neighbours and community by choosing you who is the Way in Jesus' name.

ONE WORD: THE LORD LESSES THE UPRIGHT AND HIS NEIGHBOURS.
