TEXT: PROVERBS 7:1-27
KEY VERSE: "Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye." (Vs. 2)
SUMMARY
King David in Psalm 119:9 says young men can only keep their ways pure by living according to God's words, the wise (King Solomon) also instructs his son likewise, guarding God's words as the apple of our eye and writing deep testimonies of God's words on the tablet PC of our hearts will surely free us from the seductive words of the adulterous woman (the Devil). Only a young man who lack judgement follows the leading of the adulterous woman (Devil) to go near temptations, going in the direction of her house at twilight, listening to all her persuasive words, seducing him, yielding to her temptation is like an Ox going to the slaughter and a Bird darting into a snare. Do not let your heart turn to her way, her house is a highway to the grave (Hell), but like Joseph keep God's words like the apple of your eyes and Immanuel God will save you from all temptations as saved Joseph.
APPLICATION
Both God and Devil can not do anything among men without working through men. The adulterous woman mentioned in this book of Proverbs is likened to the Devil working through women, likewise the Wisdom mentioned here represent Christ. Those who wants to be wise will follow the way of Wisdom and be free from the way that ends in destruction. As a young man, my heart is always been tempted to sin, especially fornication, but with the word of God in my heart working so powerfully, I always gain the victory knowing fully well that the way of sin (of any type, most especially sexual sin) is total destruction, 1 Cor. 3:17,6:16-20.
PRAYER: Lord, save me from Satan's temptations by keeping your commands as the apple of my eye in Jesus' name.
FURTHER READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:12-20
