A VISION OF REDEMPTION AND HOPE

TOPIC: A VISION OF REDEMPTION AND HOPE

*TEXT: ISAIAH 1:24-2:4*
*KEY VERSE: 'Many peoples will come and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.' The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." (2:3)*
*SUMMARY*
The Lord would thoroughly cleanse his people, his justice against sin is also his work of restoration. The Lord would make the city that had become a harlot to once again be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City. He redeems the penitent with justice and righteousness, but those who forsake the Lord and reject him will perish in their rebellion.
Israel was weak and surrounded by enemies, but Isaiah saw a Prophetic vision. He saw a day when the mountain of the Lord would be raised up, when the word of the Lord would go out from Jerusalem to all nations. At that time, many people will come to God to live in his judgment, they will no longer fight each other, they will all be taught by the Lord.
*APPLICATION*
Although man is nothing but dust, yet the Lord, the LORD Almighty still long to commune, dialogue, fellowship and relate with him. From this text, I am again reminded of the desire of God for me is to live as his mountain where all nations will come to, to receive absolute truth of God's word, message of redemption and hope for their soul in this perverse and evil generation. This is the desire of God for all his redeemed ones.
*PRAYER*: Father, thank you for your promise of restoration and redemption. Help me to see with the eyes of hope and to live as your prophet all the days of my life inviting others to your word in Jesus' Name, Amen.
*ONE WORD: LIVE AS GOD'S PROPHET*
*FURTHER READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:11-21*
